About Me
Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda is a distinguished Nigerian politician, engineer, and academic who currently serves as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). With a career defined by integrity, innovation, and service, he has dedicated his life to strengthening governance, empowering communities, and advancing national development.
Before assuming leadership of the APC in 2025, Professor Yilwatda served as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, where he championed policies focused on social welfare, disaster response, and the protection of vulnerable populations. His tenure was marked by pragmatic leadership and a data-driven approach to humanitarian coordination across Nigeria.
An accomplished academic and technocrat, Professor Yilwatda holds a distinguished record in engineering and higher education. He was the ICT Director at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, where he served for over a decade, and later the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Benue State from 2017 to 2021, contributing to credible electoral processes and the deployment of digital systems within the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In 2023, he contested as the APC gubernatorial flag bearer in Plateau State, earning widespread recognition for his visionary leadership and commitment to inclusive governance. His elevation to the position of National Chairman reflects a career rooted in excellence, discipline, and patriotism.
